Kashmir Tea

Capturing the fragrance of Kashmir.

  • Water
  • Cardamon
  • Green Tea
  • Saffron
  • Honey

Boil water in a pot with the cardamon seeds and saffron.

Let the water cool down a little after it reached a boiling and add the green tea leaves, when it the tea has just the right temperature to drink, add the honey (never add honey to boiling liquids) and enjoy this warming tea.

This tea got served to me when I was in Delhi in winter time, when frost is covering the earth at night. And homes in Delhi did not have a heating system nor very well sealed windows – so it was very precious to drink a hot tea with such a tender fragrance as saffron and honey in the evenings and share tales and stories with my hosts.
