A series of grand mistakes, well intended policy and large scale misunderstanding has resulted in a human health problem on the scale…well, one that is tipping the scales. Obesity is a growing problem and one of the largest human health issues facing our well being and our economy. The arguments are many on both sides of the aisle. The food companies say its the responsibility of the individual. The individual is controlled by the food...

The reality is that misunderstandings and profit margins are indicated as key factors in the bulging problem of obesity. Obesity itself increases disease and disorder and new studies indicate it may be causing genetic mutation that allows the disorder to be passed on to newborns.

Needless to say we need to better understand this problem in order to begin to deal with it. As with most things, getting educated is critical. Here is a pretty good BBC documentary that addresses some of the key factors in  how our food industry changed and how it is still controlling the outcome of our health and well being.
